Life in South Dakota

Yankton, South Dakota is located in the southeastern corner of South Dakota on the state’s border with Nebraska. Yankton is on one of the last free-flowing natural stretches of the Missouri River. The city of Yankton retains fourteen municipal parks, which include the Fantle Memorial Park, which houses an outdoor public pool, and Riverside Park, which houses the city’s Riverside Baseball Filed. Four miles west of Yankton is the Lewis and Clark Lake. Lewis and Clark Lake attracts over 1.5 million visitors per year and offers camping, swimming, hiking/biking, trails, and boating facilities to its guests. Additionally, the state of South Dakota offers plenty of natural encounters such as Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Badlands National Park, and many other attractions that interns can enjoy while living in South Dakota.
